Soon He opened His own school in Navadvipa, attracting many students eager to learn from Him. Because of His unmatched scholarship and sharp debating skills, He became widely known as Nimai Pandit, one of the greatest scholars of the region.

Defeating Keshava Kashmiri

One of the most famous events of His youth was His meeting with Keshava Kashmiri, a celebrated Digvijayi Pandit who had defeated scholars across India. When the proud scholar arrived in Navadvipa, Nimai challenged him to compose verses in praise of the Ganges. After hearing the poetry, Nimai respectfully pointed out subtle grammatical and philosophical errors in the verses. Keshava Kashmiri was astonished that such a young teacher could analyze his poetry so deeply. Realizing the divine brilliance of Nimai, he humbly accepted defeat and glorified the Lord’s extraordinary knowledge.

Following the customs of society, Nimai entered household life. He first married Lakshmi Priya, who was devoted and gentle. After her departure from this world, He later married Vishnupriya Devi, a noble and spiritually minded lady. During this period He continued teaching and supporting His family, but His life was gradually moving toward a deeper spiritual mission that would soon transform His destiny and the spiritual history of the world.
